The Problem

OAU Software Engineering students had no centralized place to access organized lecture notes, recordings, and study materials. Resources were scattered across WhatsApp groups, personal drives, and email threads. Beyond organization, students needed a smarter way to actually process and retain the material — not just find it.

The Solution

Built a platform that structures all course resources — lecture notes, slides, recordings, PDFs — in one organized space tied to specific courses. Paired it with an AI assistant that understands both text and images, and can generate concise summaries, study flashcards, and quizzes from any uploaded material. Built authentication, resource management, and the AI integration layer from scratch. Designed specifically for the DevCore'23 cohort with their specific curriculum in mind.

// what I learned

Building for a specific, known community is fundamentally different from building for a general audience. Every feature decision was grounded in real student feedback from people I knew and could talk to directly. That tight feedback loop produced a better product faster than any generalized approach would have. It also taught me how powerful AI tools become when they're applied to a focused, well-defined use case rather than trying to do everything.
